Good book, enjoyed reading this. Young adult romance with originality and flair, this is a fun read with heart and realism. But then Zoe and Grant start spending time together mainly in detention and start discovering a chemistry between them. But can two kids from opposite sides of the track really make it work?

And, if they can, will every one else let them? With fresh writing and wit, this romantic young adult read was heart-warming. The characterisation was great, particularly that of the male protagonist, as most young adult romances tend to have a romantic lead not susceptible to the usual confusions of youth — this one, however, got into the male teenage brain in a realistic and multi-dimensional manner.

One to leave you with a warm and fuzzy feeling. Loved the banter between Zoe and Grant and found all of the characters endearing. Whizzed through the first half but in the end I feel it didn't have enough story.

This one took me longer to read I didn't enjoy it as much as the first book, though I thought that ended rather quickly and maybe wasn't fully explored. I really didn't like Grant And found it ridiculous that Zoe kept going back for more. I couldn't get on with this book and its characters I only really liked Delia and Aiden!

This was my first book by the author as I didn't get to read the first one, but seeing the characters that I assume are in the first book has made me want to read it to see what happened! The Boyfriend Bet was first and foremost funny, if not a little bit on the overdramatic side.

That all comes in courtesy of Zoe, she's a bit of a drama queen and things get a bit out of hand. I did find myself not as in to this as the other books I've read from Entangled.

My main issue was that while the book started off strong, it reached a point where the same things where happening over and over and it was getting repetitive. I loved Zoe. she had a flair for the dramatic and she made me laugh, but she also came across as over dramatic and immature at certain points in the book, the longer I read and the further in to the book I got.

While her reactions where valid to everything Grant threw at her, she seemed like a character who could stand up for herself but let him walk all over her. I also loved BFF Delia and I shipped her and Aiden so hard, they cracked me up! Delia was winding him up to get a reaction and he's such a nerd it was adorable.

It reached a point in the book where I was actually more invested in these two! My issue was Grant. He was a prat. Every girl ever seems to want the guy, and he's on a date with Zoe and he's making eyes at another girl, when Zoe gets upset about the disrespect he shows at multiple points he doesn't see it and made her feel like she was being irrational.

I really didn't buy their romance, because to me, it never felt like Grant actually wanted to be with Zoe, he kept comparing her to other girls. While I was surprised that the author didn't go the standard 'he cheated on her' route that I thought they'd take it probably would have been better than how it played out in the book with Grant whining that Zoe didn't trust him when he's done nothing to actually earn that trust, then she gives him something really personal to show she trusts him like that got my back up even more than everything else.

That bothered me, that and how Zoe ended up apologising when Grant's the one at fault, for every single thing he's done and then his ex going after her again and again. There was a level of disrespect in this book that bugged me because it didn't feel right at all when reading and it really impacted my enjoyment of the book.

There where other repetitive things to the book, the detentions etc, but Grant and his general behaviour are what bugged me about the book.

The Boyfriend Bet by Chris Cannon This was a great book that I could not put down, I was exhausting, like running up and down hills or getting off a roller coaster. You would be so happy and then sad and mad. Grant your typical high boy wanting his cake and eating it too.

Zoe the high school girl wanting the popular boy from the wrong side of the tracks. This is my first book by Chris Cannon and she won me over with this book, I can't wait to reAd more.
